Hello and welcome to the League of Extraordinary Authors.  We are excited to offer you the unique opportunity to have award-winning authors visit your school.  Your school has been carefully selected as part of this collaborative movement between three extraordinary women whose goals are to promote literacy and inspire young readers. Our passion is to spark creativity through a love of reading and writing in young minds. We want your students energized about becoming creative with the tools they were given.  As educators, we understand that new ways to engage young minds is crucial to keep learning exciting! We formed the League of Extraordinary Authors because we are truly passionate about writing and the way it can empower children through developing literacy and language art skills. Creating a strong connection with literature creates successful students and lifelong learners.

We have designed a literature program for students K -12 with lively presentations and participation in Q & A sessions. Each presentation touches on skills your students will be learning, tailored to ignite their imagination and get them interested in reading.

Another aspect of our program is that we can help organize a book drive through Pass It On, a fundraiser developed to collect and donate books to schools, libraries and literary programs in need.  We can partner with local organizations in your community or with our current global recipients.  This is a wonderful way to give the gift of reading to kids without books and to show your students how they can help others by giving back.

I would love to introduce you to our 3 award-winning authors covering grades K-12.

Grades K-2
N. Jane Quackenbush – Author of the F.A.P.A Gold medal winner for Best Children’s Picture Book 2014, The Rocket Ship Bed Trip. This book offers an introduction to astronomy and is most suited to grades Kindergarten thru 2nd grade. N. Jane uses a technology filled presentation to present her beautifully illustrated book. She also gives a short fun quiz to excite the young minds into exploration of our wonderful universe. If time allows, a short film about the sights and wonders our astronauts experience is shown. Teachers, Media Specialists and of course the children really enjoy this captivating presentation. Visit www.hiddenwolfbooks.com to learn more about the book and see info from past events.
Grades 3-6Jaimie M. Engle – Jaimie M. Engle is a freelance writer for Space Coast Living Magazine and several other publications. She published her debut middle-grade novel, Clifton Chase and the Arrow of Light, in 2013 and signed with her agent, Pam van Hylckama Vlieg of D4EO Literary, shortly thereafter. Engle is a conference speaker, writing coach, and editor for aspiring authors (www.awriterforlife.com), teaches writing to Homeschool students, and volunteers with elementary school & library writing programs.Clifton Chase is the latest target for bully Ryan Rivales. But after he finds a mysterious arrow in his closet, he takes Ryan’s bet to see who can hit the target. Ryan nails the bull’s-eye, but Clifton’s piece of junk arrow sails out of sight into the Hinterland, a place of sand spurs, fire ants, and roots that aim to trip. He finally finds his arrow, but something isn’t right. Somehow, Clifton has been magically transported back to 1485 England, where he meets two princes bullied by their tyrant uncle who locked them in prison to steal their throne. Only after Clifton learns the true meaning of friendship, bravery, and sacrifice can he help the princes escape and find the courage to face his own bully. Befriended by a dwarf, a mythical bird called Simurgh, and a cast of comical characters, Clifton’s adventure through medieval times is perfect for boys and girls ages 8 – 12.

For the past several years, Jaimie has had the privilege of working with Suntree Elementary and Quest Elementary 3rd-6th grade students in their Horizons Program, and as a mentor and judge with the Future Problem Solvers program. Christina engages the students by introducing them to her series with a book trailer, asking them questions throughout the presentation, introducing them to the vast range of job options for writers and a lively Q & A session at the end, where she always encourages students to come up and talk to her one on one if time allows.
